RetroHrai! (“we”, “our”, or “the app”) is a frontend launcher for retro gaming emulators. We are committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains how we handle data in our application.

Data Collection and Storage

Local Data Only

All of your data stays on your device:

• Game library information (ROM file paths and locations)
• Game metadata (titles, descriptions, artwork)
• App settings and preferences
• Custom configurations and layouts

We do not collect, transmit, or store any of this data on our servers. We do not have user accounts or registration systems.

Analytics

We use Google Firebase Analytics to collect basic, anonymous usage information:

• Number of active installations
• Device types and Android versions
• App crashes and performance data Firebase Analytics may collect identifiers such as app instance IDs to provide aggregated usage and crash reporting.

This information helps us improve app compatibility and performance. No personally identifiable information is collected.

Third-Party API Services

RetroHrai! integrates with external services to fetch game metadata and artwork:

Services used:

• IGDB (Internet Game Database)
• TheGamesDB
• ScreenScraper.fr (requires your account login)
• SteamGridDB (requires your API key)

How we handle your credentials:

• Your ScreenScraper account credentials and SteamGridDB API keys are stored locally on your device only
• We pass these credentials directly to the respective services when you request metadata
• We do not store, transmit, or have access to these credentials on our servers

Data sent to these services is governed by their respective privacy policies.

Data Sharing

We do not sell, trade, or share your data with third parties. The only data transmission occurs when:

• You choose to fetch game metadata from third-party services
• Anonymous analytics data is sent to Google Firebase

Your Rights

You have complete control over your data:

• All data is stored locally on your device
• You can clear all app data through Android settings (Settings > Apps > RetroHrai! > Storage > Clear Data)
• You can uninstall the app at any time to remove all associated data

Children’s Privacy

RetroHrai! is not specifically directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided information to the app, please contact us.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Updates will be posted at this URL with a new “Last updated” date.
